Last Saturday we spent some time remodeling our office in Cooper City, we actually have a contest every year in Flamingo so it was an awesome experience! Environment is one of our Ethos so we always put a lot of effort on it because we know it makes a huge impact on "how you feel" when you walk into a place. Before your jump, you have a 15 minute class. now, walking to the airplane comes next and it may be the most intimidating part but you will see the Miami Skyline and the whole South Florida Coastline during the ride. Finally, over two miles above the ground the door opens and its time to jump! I'm taking about a 120 mph Freefall kinda experience!!! isn't it cool? You would feel like you are flying!

My 1st Hurricane Experience!

This is a picture of my first "Hurricane Experience". I used to live in Boston at that time and I came to Florida for a Worship Conference but obviously it was canceled due to the weather condition. At least I got the opportunity to hangout with my friends for a couple of days. Now, Once again, there's no Photoshop Tricks on this picture, no multiple layers, nothing but a regular picture, I promise! Hurricane Ivan was the strongest hurricane of the 2004 season. It was often dubbed as Ivan the Terrible. The cyclone formed in early September and became the ninth named storm, the sixth hurricane, and the fourth major hurricane of the year. Ivan reached Category 5 witch is the strongest possible category and it became the sixth most intense Atlantic hurricane on record.

Today, while I was home checking www.weather.com and realizing that is not a good day to go to the pool and get tanned, I started looking thru my iPhoto Library and found this picture that was taken during the Hurricane Wilma on October 2005. Gerson had the opportunity to sing a couple of songs with his band last tuesday night before Funky and Alex Campos. The concert was awesome and they did a great job. Click here to watch the video.

Abriendo su presentación con un par de temas traducidos del grupo Australiano Hillsong United, pero con arreglos personales muy al estilo Q? Desde las primeras notas, el grupo dejo escuchar su estilo rockero pop identificado por magníficos arreglos con acelerados golpes de percusión, armonías de teclados y agudos alaridos de guitarra eléctrica. La audiencia que presencio el debut del grupo en el salón de conferencias del Sheraton Miami durante Expolit 2008, brincaban y cantaban eufóricos al ritmo de Q? quienes vienen a mostrar un lado joven, diferente y dinámico de la música cristiana.

Los ahí presentes tuvimos también la oportunidad de presenciar lo que fue el nacimiento del sello de música cristina “La Cima del Cielo” que será dirigido por el Sr. Ricardo Montaner “Este fue un sueño que nació del corazón de Dios” dijo Montaner. La intención de dicha casa disquera, será la de apoyar al talento cristiano abarcando todas las áreas desde compositores, músicos y cantantes, siendo Q? el primer artista que grabara bajo dicho sello discográfico.

Mother's Day!

This is how we celebrated Mother's day in the spanish service at Flamingo Road Church, we had The Mariachi "Voces de America" in both Cooper City Campus on Saturday night and Hallandale Beach Campus on Sunday afternoon. It was really cool! everybody loved it and while the mariachi were singing all the children were giving presents to their moms. I'm sure it was a unforgettable moment! Happy Mother's Day!

Recording Session

A couple of weeks ago I went with Carlos to SAE to record a song with Robert Lopez. He almost graduated as a Sound Engineer so he has been learning a lot, so as a student he has access to the studios. They have everything! its amazing. We had a lot of fun!, we recorded an easy song because we only had like 3 hours to do it. I had to go my rehearsal in Hallandale later, so we recorded "Everlasting God". I played the Drums and Carlos played the Bass and the Guitars. I'll post the mp3 you guys can hear it. Nothing sophisticated though.

Last Wednesday I got home late at night, and when I got out of the car I was like mmmm, there's something wrong, but I didn't know what the deal was, so... after a few seconds looking around I found out that I was missing the Hub Caps, ALL of them!. I couldn't believed it!. I mean, who would be interested in some used Hub Caps at the parking lot? I just don't get it!. unless of course somebody is playing some kind of joke. well, I guess I'm gonna have to "Pimp My Ride", I don't know, maybe some Spinners... (just kidding). For now it looks like a Police Car with black rims. Well, I guess it's time for a change, something new, something different.

I just came from the Miami International Airport, my brother Gerson is going to El Salvador so I dropped him off today. Hes's gonna stay there for 12 days, u know, things to do...places to go... people to see. By the way, he's not flighting with Oceanic Airlines because he's got a better deal with TACA International Airlines, besides if you flight with Oceanic you have to make a connection flight in Sydney, so... not a good idea!. Have a safe trip Gerson. "See you in another life... Brotha!"

Believe it or not I just turned 29!. that's right, almost 30 years old. I feel really good though, last friday I had my B-Day Party in my house and it was a lot of food, a lot of dancing and of course... a lot of fun!. I got to hang out with my family and friends. after one week with out it...i finally got my iPhone fixed! this is what happend, sit tight ok, I got to the Cooper City Campus to play in the Spanish service as usual and I ran out of the car because it was almost raining (1:30pm), we started the sound check and then the service at 2:15 pm, we finished the worship 45 minutes later and then i was hanging out at the green room. I wanted to check my email so I was like "where's my phone?" I didn't see it anywhere so I thought maybe is in my car. I didn't go right away because it was still raining, so I waited for a while and then I went back to the car. Yes, I found it, but it wasn't inside the car! It was on the ground!!! I dropped it and didn't notice!!!, I couldn't believe it. too bad they haven't release the iUmbrella yet. I tried to use the phone but the screen didn't work. I couldn't click on anything. If you called me last week and I didn't answer now you know why. (Sorry about that). Anyway, I wanted to wait for a couple of days to let it dry and then take it to the Apple Store. I called to set an appointment and I went on Friday at 10:30 am to the one on Lincoln Road. 2 reasons: 1- I usually hang out in Miami Beach on fridays. 2- Thats the coolest Apple Store in FL. so I went there and a Mac Genius helped me. He tried to fix it but it just didn't work, so he looked at me and said: "Dude, I'm gonna have to give you a replacement, so just wait for a little bit while I put all of your files and settings to the new phone", so I said : "Cool". 20 minutes later I was walking out of the store with a Brand New iPhone and all of my files, contacts info, pictures, music, everything was on it!. the warranty covered everything! I can't complain at all, great customer service.
Tonight, I found this website and learned "How to save a Wet Cellphone"

Get it out of the water as soon as possible. Grab your phone quickly!!!

Dry your phone. Obviously you need to remove as much of the water as soon as possible.

We're launching a brand new series this weekend in Flamingo Road Church and its called "Love Sign"... A retro Christmas. So we were all decorating the offices with Christmas Retro Theme, It was actually a contest and we won!. Brian Fuller came up with the idea of "Studio 54" and we invited everybody to party!
I have to tell you some of the details:
Silver Christmas Tree, Invitation Cards, Disco Ball, 70's Music, Security Guy at the Door, Fog Machine ( We turned it off though. The Fire Alarm System didn't like it that much), We had Coffee, Apple Cider, Custom made 70's magazines, Huge Love Sign Logo, Love Sign Table Covers, Retro Pictures, etc.
I'm proud of the Communications team (Fuller, Scott, Ana, Carlos & Miguel) They're just people with a lot of creativity. You guys are awesome!!!

Last weekend I went with my family to MGM Disney at Orlando. It was a family/fun experience and I can even say it was the perfect weekend because my mom is in town, (She came last Monday by the way), I wasn't playing at any of the campuses, neither my brothers, the weather was nice and it was Thanksgiving Weekend!!! so we had a great time. We really enjoyed the trip, a couple of rides, the Shows, the food, i mean it was awesome!. In this picture Im at the parking lot with my Carlos, Gerson, Kody, Alex and Angel.

I was actually looking for a Honda Civic, but man, when I saw this one I was like...
This is it! I'm buying this car! so I did.
It's really nice and comfortable, and I got a great deal.

¡El pastor líder, Troy Gramling de Flamingo Road Chruch se esta desnudando! No….no la clase de desnudez que imaginas, es una manera nueva de desnudarse. Una manera de desnudarse que no da vergüenza; una manera de desnudarse que Dios diría que esta buenísima.

El día 9-9 a las 9pm, Troy estará en una cámara las 24 horas al día por 5 semanas en cuatro localidades: casa, carro, hotel y la oficina. Todos los días, todo el día, veremos su vida como si estuviera en una pecera: lo bueno, lo malo, lo grandioso, lo feo. ¿Porque? Bueno, primero déjanos decirte porque no; No es para exaltarlo. Si no, para darnos cuenta con él de que todos somos peces en peceras. Mientras mas transparentes (desnudos) seamos, más puede Dios hacer cosas grandiosas a través de nosotros. No fuimos creados para ser personas que anden escondidas u ocultas o avergonzadas. Fuimos creados para ser reales, desnudos y sin vergüenza.

Así que prepárate porque Flamingo Road Church va entrar en una pecera y esperamos que nos acompañes.

I play at Flamingo Road Church almost every weekend, usually my Sunday starts at 7AM with a rehearsal at the Hallandale Beach Campus, we have breakfast together at 8:30 AM in the green room, the first English service starts at 9:30 AM and the second one at 11:15 AM, we play 4 songs every service and I lead the band. Then we have a Spanish service at 12:45 PM, we started this service 8 weeks ago and its going really good; Pastor Alejandro Diaz is doing a great job leading and teaching the same series in Spanish; anyway, we play another set of songs and its cool because it is FRC style but also with a Spanish Flavor, sometimes even a old school Marcos Witt song which everybody loves; Then, right after the worship I get on the road and continue “Touring” to another city, my next service starts at 2:15 PM in the Cooper City Campus, so I’m driving like The Fast and the Furious… Just Kidding!!! I’ve never had a ticket and I don’t even have a Radar on my car… Just for the record. Anyway, my Sunday worship experience usually ends at 3:30 PM. If not… I’m playing at The Pulse at 5 PM. So It’s a lot of fun, I love it, “I’m plugged in”, but the truth is I need to get “Unplugged” at least once in a while, so this weekend I was off, I didn’t play at any of the services, not even one, so I went to Key Largo with Miguel, Gerson, Carlos and his family. We had a great time at the Key Largo Club, we played tennis, we went to the pool, we played soccer, etc. I really needed this break, seriously, good times!, I have to confess that I took my acoustic guitar though, I couldn’t resist, I had a sunset worship moment, I also watched the 5 PM service online at frclive.tv and I gave my offerings through PayPal

I’m here at the Hilton Hotel near to Downtown Disney in Orlando,FL with part of the FRC Magnification Team Getting ready for tomorrow’s event, The Leadership Summit of Willow Creek Association. Ricky, Heredes, Fuller, Allen, Peter, Voughn, Heather, Lilibeth and I, along with around 80,000 leaders from everywere.
but WHY are we attending to this event?

This morning I had the opportunity to be on the HOT SEAT. We had our first Weekend Celebration/Prayer Meeting at 10AM in the Room 126. so after hearing all the cool things God is doing in the Church like Summer Camp, Hallandale Outreach Events, etc. Raul invited me to the Hot Seat!. This is something we've been doing lately at the Staff Meetings beacuse there are a lot of new Staff members and the truth is we work together but we don't really know each other, so whoever is on the seat has to answer all the questions they ask, all kinda questions!. It's really fun. Allen Distefano has been on the hot seat aswell, Troy Gramling, Charlotte, and today I was the Lucky one. It was a cool experience, to be honest I was kinda nervious but after the first couple of questions I felt more confident. I don't remember all of them but these are some of the questions: When did you start playing instruments? -When I was 8 Years Old. Which Instrument? -Keyboards. How many Instruments can you play? I play Drums, Bass, Guitar and Keys. Which instrument you don't play? -You don't wanna hear me playing Violin! When are you getting married? -I would say 2 years from now. When did you came? -Was working at a Church in El Salvador when they opened a new campus in Boston,MA so they sent me to lead the worship. I worked there for 2 years and then I moved to FL around a year and a half ago, so I came to this country 3 years and a half ago. What's your favorite restaurant? -Sweet Tomatoes! What kind of musical influences do you have? -I would say Victor Wooten, Chick Corea, Mutemath. Who's been a person of influence in your life since you came to this church? -Well, obviously Troy, but then I've had the chance to work close with a lot of peaple here, like Ricky, Allen, Igor, and now with Sammy, Alejandro, Voughn, José, all of them have influence my life. How do you like it working at FRC? -It has been a learning and growing up experience, the way we work here is different to what I was used to, and so, I've been learning a lot, I like it!. When I look at you on stage you seem to be the guy who's just having fun but the truth is you are the one acctually leading, is it something natural on you or do you have to make effort to do it? -I learned that in Ministry is not about me beeing on the spot light, but its about me helping others to grow and to reach their potential, I love working with people, I love helping them, training them.

Tenemos que ser MUY creativos para poder mantener un ambiente agradable y atractivo en el cual la gente pueda recibir de Dios a travez de CADA elemento del servicio. Esa nuestra responsabilidad. Aqui estan 10 Maneras de hacer los servicios mas aburridos. Los resultados son 100% garantizados!

No te preocupes de cuando termina el servicio. Estoy seguro que nadie tiene planes para después del servicio.

Usa escrituras directas, sin ejemplos practicos! Jesús no enseñó esa manera, pero tu eres un comunicador mejor que Jesús, no es así?

Despues de algun tiempo de tocar instrumentos musicales he aprendido a disfrutar cada uno de ellos, es increible el poder conectarse con las cuerdas de tal forma que puedas comunicar o expresar sentimientos a los que te escuchan, aun sin decir nada, solo atraves de la guitarra. En los dos ultimos años me he sentido bastante inclinado a tocar la guitarra acustica mas que a los demas instrumentos y la verdad se ha convertido en mi favorito, creo que se debe a la tendencia en la musica moderna a llevar la base ritmica con guitarras, tambien al hecho que la guitarra me permite tener una mejor comunicación con la audiencia que el piano, por lo menos esa es mi percepción personal.

I was invited to play at this church in Framingham, MA so I spent the weekend at Boston, There was a big event going on the city, the famous BOSTON MARATHON, they do that every year, it's a big party, live music, free food, everybody on the streets, the weather was perfect, not too cold, not to hot, around the 70's, and it was sunny, I'm here right infront of the Prudencial Center at Downtown Boston just chillin', man, the music was awesome, what can I say, and of course, GO RED SOXS!

Hoy fimos al servicio en la Casa de Jesus, Miami Beach, mis papas contentos de ver a Gerson dirigiendo la alabanza. Yo toqué el teclado, Ricky tocó la guitarra, Mau la Bateria, Estubo buenisimo. Despues del servicio nos fuimos a comer un churrasco argentino, y pareciera extraño pero estaba haciendo un poco de frio en la florida. La verdad cae bien un poco de frio de vez en cuando.
